WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's soccer team made it three in a row on Sunday defeating the Rutgers University Scarlet Knights, 2-0, at North Kehoe Field. For the second-consecutive game, the Blue & Gray scored the game-winner early on as the Hoyas posted their seventh shutout of the season and snapped RU's three-game win streak. With the victory, Georgetown improves to 6-2-1 overall and 3-1 in BIG EAST play.
VILLANOVA, Pa. - Junior Tadeu Terra provided the equalizer on a second half set piece as the St. John's men's soccer team tied Villanova, 1-1. Derby Carrillo made a career-high six saves for St. John's (2-2-5, 1-1-3). Michael Seamon had a goal for Villanova (5-4-2, 2-2-1), while Chris Bresnahan made six saves.
"This was a typical hard-fought BIG EAST contest," said head coach Dr. Dave Masur. "We created some great chances as the game went on and were able to take advantage of our depth to keep fresh legs on the field, but Villanova came up with the defensive stops when they needed them."
