GU17 Participates in Atlanta Final Four College Showcase
Over 200 college coaches descended upon Atlanta, GA, on December 2-4 for a College Showcase tournament held in conjunction with the NCAA Final Four college matches. In addition to the Club teams playing in the showcase, teams were invited to watch the NCAA semi-final matches and NCAA Championshipgame. Final match this year was Stanford versus Duke. Stanford won the NCAA Championship.
SBF G94 (Girls Under 17) coached by Jim Millinder, played games against teams from Florida, Mississippi, and Ohio. The girls tied 2 games and won one. Of the 3 games, two were played at 8am EST (equivilent to 5am PST for our So Cal girls) in frosty, freezing cold weather. As you can see in the following photos, the ground was frozen until the sun came up each morning.
The Girls have participated in several college showcases ove the last 2 years and have several more upcoming showcase tournaments in 2012:

- Player’s Showcase Las Vegas (March 2012)
- Player’s Development Academy - PDA New Jersey (May 2012)
- Texas Shootout (June 2012)
As of December 2011, three players on this team have made college committments:
- Rochelle Weerackoon - Arkansas State University - graduates 2012
- Aiko Johnson - Montana State University - graduates 2012
- Krystyna Sikora - Duke University - graduates 2013
