WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men’s soccer team fought valiantly but couldn’t come away with a win in its BIG EAST opener Friday evening in Queens, N.Y. The Hoyas fell to No. 15/15 St. John’s by a score of 2-0 after allowing a heartbreaking goal with just ten minutes left in regulation. With the loss, Georgetown drops to 3-2-1 overall and 0-1-0 in conference, while St. John’s moves to 2-1-2 and 1-0-0 in BIG EAST play.
Junior scores twice as LMU knocks off second top-10 opponent

San Diego, Calif. - Another Sunday game. Another top-10 opponent. Another LMU victory. Junior Rafael Baca scored two goals, including the game-winner in the 82nd minute, as knocked off its second top-10 opponent in a week, downing #5 Dartmouth on Sunday morning at the San Diego Nike Classic. The 18th-ranked Lions (4-2-0) jumped out to a 2-0 lead, then held off a furious rally to hand the Big Green (4-1-1) their first loss of the season.

QUEENS, N.Y. - The No. 15/15 St. John’s men’s soccer team remained unbeaten at home this season, playing Seton Hall to a 0-0 draw. Derby Carrillo (South Bay Force/CSUDH) made three saves to post his fourth shutout of the year for St. John’s (2-1-3, 1-0-1). Paul McHenry made seven saves in goal for Seton Hall (4-2-1, 1-0-1).
"Seton Hall is very a physical team and this was a hard-fought BIG EAST battle," said head coach Dr. Dave Masur. "We were able to create more opportunities as the game went on, but their keeper made some spectacular saves."

Himeno nets game-winner to lead Red Storm.
QUEENS, N.Y. - In front of a Belson Stadium record crowd of 2,518 fans, the No. 15/15 St. John’s men’s soccer team scored two second half goals to defeat Georgetown, 2-0, to open BIG EAST play. Adam Himeno tallied the game-winner and Tadeu Terra also added a goal to lead the Red Storm (2-1-2, 1-0-0). Derby Carrillo (South Bay Force/CSUDH) made four saves to post his third shutout of the year. Matthew Brutto made four saves in goal for Georgetown (3-2-1, 0-1-0).

Georgetown Wins First BIG EAST Contest Downing Syracuse 2-0

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men’s soccer team ended a grueling weekend on a high note with a 2-0 victory over Syracuse (1-6-0, 0-2-0 BIG EAST) Sunday afternoon in Syracuse, N.Y. The win marked the Hoyas’ fifth shutout of the season as the Blue & Gray improved to 4-2-1 overall and 1-1-0 in BIG EAST play. Georgetown showed depth as a number of freshmen stepped into key roles after illness and injury took starters out of the equation.
